Project Background
①Road Conditions
Tonghui West Road, a scenic road with “Jiangnan Cultural Heritage” features in Huishan Ancient Town, has been in use for nearly 40 years since its completion in 1986 and has since developed a range of “senior citizen” problems such as damaged pavement, rutting, potholes, subsidence, and broken sidewalks and bulging sections, which have affected the normal use and appearance of the road.

②Pole Issues
Previously, lighting poles, road sign poles, traffic signal poles, and surveillance pole were installed separately, leading to a chaotic overall layout and inconvenience for citizens’ travel. This method could no longer meet the needs of urban management and tourism development upgrade.

II.Solutions
Adopting Greenlane’s slide-type multi-functional smart poles has achieved “multiple poles combined”. All the attachments such as lighting, signage, advertising, surveillance, and traffic signal are integrated into one pole, creating a comprehensive pole that effectively solves the problems caused by the original multiple poles scattered in different places.

III. Project Results
The renovated Tonghui West Road has shown good results, with the roadside becoming clean and tidy, and the nighttime lighting conditions greatly improved. These changes have received widespread praise from citizens, enhancing the citizens’ travel experience and the city’s overall image. It also provides a successful example for similar urban road renovation projects, especially in terms of enhancing the comprehensive utilization efficiency of roads by adopting multi-functional smart poles.
